GEORGIA ZOI

Georgia Zoi (born in Arta, Greece) is a founding partner of Epsilon. Upon her High School graduation, she gained the IKY scholarship and was admitted into the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens, from which she graduated “summa cum laude”. In 1978 she participated in seminars on Theatre Architecture in Munich and London. Upon her admission in the university. In 1972 she co-founded Georgia Zoi & Partners Architecture and Urban Planning firm and in 1998 she co-founded the Epsilon architectural firm. Georgia Zoi is an architect with many years of experience in architectural renovation and restorations projects of preserved buildings. She is also an adept urban planner with active participation in the country’s urban planning since 1983. She has participated in numerous urban projects of expansion, revision, regeneration as well as private urban planning projects throughout Greece.

– She has won the Greek Mathematical Association’s Panhellenic Award.
– She participated in the “1999 International Architecture Meeting” in Beijing.
– From 2000 to 2016 she was elected to the Central Delegation of the Technical Chamber of Greece (T.E.E.) four times.
– She represented Greece in the world congress of Architecture for theaters in Munich in the 1978.
– She has worked with Eggonopoulos and Stefanellis on stage design.
– She was a speaker on Architecture and Environment issues at the 2nd Greek-Russian Forum, in Saint Petersburg in 2010.

Concurrent activities & interests
– Georgia Zoi, in 1977 graduated from the Drama School of the Greek National Theater. Since then, she has participated in numerus theatrical plays and movies.
– Awarded twice by UNESCO: in 2019 for her performance in the show “Gaia” and in 2022 for her performance in the show “Sofia Vebo, I Remember You”
– Since 2020, she has founded and directs the Cultural Theatrical Urban Non-Profit Society DIONIS AINIGMA which has a permanent presence in the organization of important productions and cultural events.
– She has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia.

Inspirations
Georgia Zoi was born in Fteri, Arta, by the banks of river Arachthos in the region of the Tzoumerka mountain range. River Arachthos, the Tzoumerka Mastoroxoria, Byzantine music, folk tradition as well as her activity in the theatrical field are her inspiration in architecture. Water, transparency, movement, clarity, simplicity, and abstraction are inextricable characteristics of her work.

Evagelos Tsironis

Evagelos Tsironis (born in Arta, Greece) is a founding partner of Epsilon. He graduated from the Milan Polytechnic School of Architecture, Italy (GPA: 95/100 – Excellent). From 1982 to 1986 he worked in the office of the architect Gianni Mantero. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as a freelancer architect. From 1988 to 1999 he was a partner in the office M, Sazakis – P. Klonaridis & Partners. During 1991 he was member of the Board of Directors of E.E.T.A.A. (Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government). In 1998 he co-founded the Epsilon architectural firm.

– Management Consultant in NSRF (National Strategic Reference Framework) programs for Attica at the Ministry of National Economy. (February 1992)
– Special Advisor to the General Secretariat of Sports for the drafting of the preliminary study and the specifications for the Sports Center for Disabled People of the National Foundation for The Rehabilitation of The Disabled in Agios Anargyros, Attica. (July 1991).
– Technical Advisor of the Association “SOCIAL SOLIDARITY – EQUALITY IN LIFE” in the preparation of the preliminary study and monitoring of the project: “Multipurpose Center for Medical and Vocational Rehabilitation in Palaia Penteli, Attica. (April 1991).

Inspirations
His memories and love for the alpine elevations of Tzoumerka and the rushing waters of Arachthos coupled with the atmosphere of Italy have formed his architectural concept, which is manifested through the Modern movement and the use of contemporary technological means of expression.
